Greetings:

The Lodge at Rocky Hollow and our assisted living business started in our family, with our family, and as a family business. My great grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in the mid 1990’s. Not having any knowledge of assisted living at this time, my grandfather placed her in a nursing home in Dallas but was quickly disheartened with the lack of care and service given.

About the same time I began the endeavor of opening a personal care home in East Texas. My great grandmother became my first resident. Over time, I expanded my business to become the best assisted living home in the area. I was able to care for my great grandmother until she passed away. After seeing the difference in care that a good assisted living home can give and becoming aware of the lack of available residences in the Georgetown area, I began the process of wanting to open an assisted living community in Georgetown close to my family. The Lodge was designed, built, then opened in February, 2006.

Today, we are again affected by an additional family member who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2009. This is more than a business to us. It is a personal ministry for all of you whose lives have been touched, in one way or another, by a loved one diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or any other memory disorder or dementia.
